NamcoBandai released some additional screenshots of Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 at the Gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany. GameSpot has several of the images up on their site, with links to gameplay videos.

Graphically, it looks slightly better than the previous outing–which isn’t surprising. My concern is the gameplay. Hopefully, they pull a few pages from the Tenkaichi Dragon Ball series of games. While I found the combat a little more complex than it needed to be, it was spot on. I found the first Raging Blast seriously lacking in comparison through oversimplification, that drained most of the fun from the game.

Hopefully NamcoBandai will find the gameplay sweet spot that made Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm so much fun. This series deserves it.
