With an enormous amount of GameFly disks going missing from Philadelphia, the Post Master Inspector General conducted a sting operation.
Reginald Johnson was employed by the Post Office and unloaded trucks of mail in center city. During the sting he attempted to escape in his SUV which he crashed leaving 79 Gamefly disks in the vehicle. He then attempted an escape on foot with a backpack full of another 81 disks. He was quickly apprehended and admitted to stealing over 2200 Gamefly disks estimated at $86,000.
Reportedly, he traded most of these in to local GameStops. I know I have a ton of GameStops near me but not enough to hide 2200 disks without cases.
Side note : How can GameFly and NetFlix stay solvent with this much theft?
i dont know what gameflys gonna do maybe they can hook up with microsoft and sony and some way make it downloadable rentals that they can remove or something like that.i been saying netflix should maybe charge a little bit more and stop shipping dvds and put every thing on instant que,they would not have to worry about theft at all and would make way more moneybecause there profit margin would bo enormous,one dvd could be wathed by the masses,i hate waiting for those dvds ,i have the cheapest package cause i only really watched whats on there instant library the only dvds i got from netflix is the last three seasons of weeds and i only get one dvd at a time so it takes a month to watch a season.
and i cant say im mad at the postman at least he didnt shoot up the place.lol
