Episode Nineteen :: On the Rainslick Precipitating the Longest Show Ever

June 6th, 2008
By: GamerHusbands

In this Episode we cover “drama”. Tomonobu Itagaki abruptly leaving Team Ninja and Tecmo. Also, we reply to some recent reviews that were posted on iTunes. Scott is mourning the loss of his third Xbox, while Allen adds more games to his conquered list. This is the longest Episode ever due to Maverick’s bad editing skills, but one that is good nonetheless. You have just now tuned in to GamerHusbands Radio.

i usually grab your show from podcast alley but don’t see it there yet. TGIF

  3. TeeTocks says:

Hmmm, maybe because of the RSS feed switch we just did.

Also, Sam will be back next show…he was out of town this past week.

  4. Bumble says:

Sorry GD. I haven’t figured out how to change that yet. Our old RSS feed would post to that site but I don’t know what I have to do to change the new one. I am still working on it though. And Alfred was supposed to post the show on the old RSS feed too but it looks like he didn’t. I was going to post the next two episodes on the old RSS as well so that people had time to realize the change.

No problem. Is there a way to have a link on your site to download so it pops up from your webpage. Just wondering since iTunes is blocked at my work. No woorries though, I can just download it when I get home and listen to it on Monday.

  6. Bumble says:

Yeah. I just posted a Listen Now link. Scott does the post and I do the listen now link so thats why it wasnt up yet. But its there now.

  7. TeeTocks says:

Also, if anyone has had an issue with Ep 19 not showing up in their iTunes, click on the iTunes link on our site and it will open up our new feed. At least that’s how I was able to get it.

Just finished listening to this marathon Episode….whew. You know now that I think of it, this episode alone took 8hrs of my life having to record it twice and listening to it once. I need a power nap, then an energy bar and some poweraid to replenish.

Don’t think I’m a fan of the one host in one headphone and the other hosts in the other headphone, not that I believe that was intentional.

  12. TeeTocks says:

    Whoopsie…Thanks JD and Bumble

  13. Maverick says:

that episode was fun to record. Both parts of it. And for being a long show, I really enjoyed listening to it. But, that episode sucked to edit, and Im not that good at editing. Come back, Sam!!!

Yet another great episode.. But I dont like the stereo voices. It is too hard to listen to on headphones, It is like only having only one speaker working at a time. I didnt notice the gap in editing until you guys talked about it so great job editing that. Whatever happened to the community interview segment? I liked that when I heard it. do you guys think you will ever do it again?

  15. adirtypoostick, I am a ten says:

I posted a little before the show was over so I have a few things to add…. first what is the stigma about a “perfect ten” game? Are you reviewing a game or assigning a grade to it? When you are reviewing a game you are assigning a number value to your enjoyment. Like 1 means you werent pleased at all. 5 saying somewhat pleased, and 10 meaning greatly pleased. Just like a comment card at a restaurant about your service. If you look at a review like it is a grading system on its technical merit (which I think is a piss poor way of looking at anything) then yes nothing is ever a ten, something is always wrong.

Whoever said that these grading systems were a rating of its technical merit in the first place? When you are looking at a game to buy are you saying it better have this much story, the frame rate had never drop below 60… on and on or are you just considering whether or not you would enjoy playing it. If that is the case then you ask yourself “on a scale of one to ten how much did I enjoy this game?” In my opinion GTA4 is ten based on my enjoyment and time spent playing. I dont get why a game must be considered perfect to get a ten. If that is the case then no Itunes review should ever get a 5 star rating, or movie, or vehicle or anything for that matter. It would just be a world of 80′s and 90′s. just my opinion on the review topic.
