Capcom – New York Comic Con

October 15th, 2012
By: Full Tilt 101

New York Comic Con just ended and I had a blast. Its an amazing conglomeration of geekdom. Video games were well represented as Capcom showed off the new Monster Hunter, DarkStalkers Resurrection and Resident Evil 6. Their booth was packed the entire weekend and I never made it over to get hands on but I’m excited for both DarkStalkers and Monster Hunter. Love the DarkStalkers license and I can never have enough classic fighters. It looks like a great update to the classic.

343 Classified: Halo 4 makers encourage Blackout

It’s official. Master Chief has a new enemy out there and it’s not the covenant. It’s Pirates. Not surprising to see Master Chief appear on torrents all over the world, especially when disks go to the factory for production. Idiots all over world have been posting pictures of the official disks and the game running on their consoles. Microsoft is rumored to be handing out lifetime bans to anyone that plays pirated copies on their console. Does this also apply to people who obtain early copies from stores that break the street date? The offender would be the seller and not the purchaser who obtained a copy legally. As of right now, it’s safe to assume that the ones posting pictures with names like XxXreeferboy420xxX are probably smelly pirates. Official word from the Halo:Waypoint site;

NCAA Football 13 GamerHusbands Review

August 22nd, 2012
By: Alfred "GHR Maverick"

The air outside is becoming breathable again, the inhabitants of earth are emerging from their living quarters without fear of melting.  College Jerseys are becoming part of the weekly wardrobe rotation, and the intangible aura of happiness has dawned over the American populace.  Sunday morning patronage begins at 1p.m. Eastern, but the eagerly devoted have already partaken of the morning ritual.  We’re not talking about religion, we’re talking about a  religious experience, this is football season.

Picking up the latest college football game is part of the yearly pilgrimage, and NCAA 13 has to separate itself from the pack.  Well, it’s the only dog in the race again this year, but that doesn’t hinder the upgrades that Tiburon has made, or does it?

Classic Gaming Expo Impressions

August 14th, 2012
By: ShoNuff71

The Classic Gaming Expo took place this past weekend in downtown Las Vegas. The CGE is a celebration of the roots of home videogame consoles, computers, and the pioneers that programmed those first home games, and created the play mechanics that are still used in the games of this current generation of consoles.

This was my first time attending the event, so I didn’t necessarily have a good idea as to the overall flow of the event. Click the jump to find out more about the Classic Gaming Expo, and it’s surrounding activities.

E3 2012: Code of Princess

June 6th, 2012
By: ShoNuff71

I am perfectly happy with the PSVita for my portable gaming needs, but news like this will make buy a Nintendo 3DS. Per this article from Technologytell.com and an email from the publisher, Atlus will bringing the 2.5 D brawler Code of Princess to North America. What is the big deal to me you ask? Simple. The team who are did this game are former Treasure coders who did Guardian Heroes–a game that I have excessive fanboy love for.

The game focuses on princess Solange Blanchefleur de Luxe. When her kingdom falls to monster attacks, she picks up her family enchanted sword, and her scantily clad combat outfit to beat down the beastial army. 4 players can join the fray in ad hoc or online multiplayer in co-op or competitive game modes. Once this game releases, I think I foresee a Nintendo 3DS in my future.

E3 2012: Fist of the North Star 2 Announced

June 6th, 2012
By: ShoNuff71

Tecmo Koei revealed that gamers will be able to return to the extreme martial arts, post nuclear apocalyptic world of Fist of the North Star. Destructoid is reporting that all that was revealed was a logo for the game, but I for one can’t wait to explode some more heads in the sequel. I for one, can’t wait to see what they bring to the table.

E3 2012: Lost Planet 3 Gameplay Trailer

By: ShoNuff71

It looks like the Spark developed Capcom published game will take a step backwards in the LP timeline. This time, the game takes place at the dawn of E.D.N. III’s colonization by mankind. GamingUnion.net The gameplay trailer showed no hint of the co-op showcased in the last game (I never played it, but a lot of people were critical of it). It seems that more emphasis is going to fall on single player, story driven action–which suits me just fine. I’m looking forward to finding out more about this game as the week of E3 continues.

GHR Review: Ninja Gaiden 3

March 25th, 2012
By: ShoNuff71

Legacy. Webster defines the word as follows: Something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor, or from the past. Ninja Gaiden is a series of action brawlers designed and produced by Team Ninja of Tecmo. Under the design leadership of the series creator Tomonobu Itagaki, Ninja Gaiden has become the gold standard for all 3D 3rd person brawlers, due to its precise control schemes, and thumb numbing difficulty.

Now, Team Ninja has bestowed upon the gaming world, the third installment of this series – sans Itagaki and those core employees that laid the foundation for the greatest action brawler series ever made. Were they successful in building on that legacy take the series to new heights, or did they drag it down to the depths of Ninja Dog-dom? If you heard episode 210 of GamerHusbands Radio, you probably know the answer to that question. If not, click the jump, and I shall enlighten you as to whether this new ninja’s path is worth the travel.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

February 1st, 2012
By: JDsBlackBox

With much trepidation I ventured out to Gamestop on my lunch break and looked at the game case for Star Wars: The Old Republic. It had been out for a few weeks and had been getting good reviews. I had given up on World of Warcraft for the second time in my life earlier in the year. Knowing my rabid addiction to the previous Star Wars MMORPG, Galaxies, I wondered if I could moderate myself and not fall hopelessly addicted. Maybe some of the negative things people were saying about the game would turn me off. After all, it IS a Bioware game, a developer I have disliked for a long time. Only one way to find out, play it for myself. So home I went, after sending a picture of the game to Weasel to make him jealous.

I was wrong on all fronts. I am addicted, and the game is pretty damn great.

GHR Editorial: What I Want From Next Gen

February 1st, 2012
By: ShoNuff71

There is a lot of rumor running around on the interwebs about the next round of consoles. While Nintendo is definitely going to showcase the WiiU this E3, unconfirmed sources to big gaming media, and flat out denials from Sony and Microsoft leave us with more questions than answers –Personally, I think we’ll be hearing something about the next Playstation and Xbox by E3, but thats just my gut talking.

This got me thinking–what do I want from the next round of systems? Do I feel that my gaming experiences on Playstation 3 and Xbox360 are lacking something that the next round of systems could provide? My wants may not be what you’ve heard elsewhere. Click the jump to check out my uninformed ramblings on the subject.
