No, I’m not talking about how many Microsoft points it will cost you to use the links on our site. Im talking about an article that NextGen.biz has up looking at the top 100 selling games for the last 12 months. Some are a no brainer but some I’m honestly baffled how they made the top 100. First off, Cooking Mama: Cook Off? What the heck is that about. 470k people bought that game. 470,000!! There is something wrong with that. And whoever says the PS2 is dead is dead wrong. There are numerous games on this list that came out on the PS2. Vice City Stories for instance sold 720k copies just on the PS2. That doesn’t even include the PSP version. A PS2 exclusive, God of War 2, sold over 1.8 million copies so that just goes to show that the PS2 is still a contender in this generation of the console wars. I guess this surprises me because the PS2 is over 8 years old and still going strong. It makes me wonder how long the PS3 will last. Maybe it will make to the ten year mark that Sony is shooting for. And not surprisingly, COD4 and “the game we shall not mention” top the list at the 1 and 2 spots respectively.

MGS4 PS3 Bundle Not Just A Bundle
April 10th, 2008By: Bumblb19

Apparently, the MGS4 limited edition PS3 will be coming stateside as well. The gunmetal gray PS3 sold out in a very short time in Japan. This will be a very limited run of PS3′s and I would assume they will sell out here in the US just as quickly as in Japan. Sony will also be bringing the 80 gig model back for a special bundle that comes with MGS4 Standard Edition, and a DualShock 3 controller. So Maverick, does this up the time table in which you hope to get a PS3? June 12th is coming fast. The full story can be found on the PlayStation Blog along with more box art as well.
Final Fantasy IV DS coming to US in July
April 9th, 2008By: Bumblb19

Apparently, Nintendo Power Magazine has let slip the release month for the US version of this game. They ran a ten page piece on it in their latest issue and didn’t mention anything about the date in the article. However, in another section of the magazine that shows release dates for upcoming games, they did put it in there with a July release window. Square Enix, the developer of the game, has yet to make an announcement on the release but after this I’m sure they will in no time. Story info came from DSfanboy.
Viva Pinata: Party Animals
April 8th, 2008By: Bumblb19

This is a wonderful family game. It has clean fun for the kids and yet keeps adults entertained with some of the humor in it. I would recommend this to anyone with a family but not so much to an individual. It has 42 “challenges” and 14(7 forward, 7 reverse) races. Read on for the full scoop.
Fender Goes Wireless
April 8th, 2008By: Bumblb19

Today, the wireless version of the Fender Stratocaster guitar for Rock Band goes on sale. $59.99 is what this piece will set you back if you want to rock it out without worrying about getting tangled up or if you are looking for a second guitar to add to your collection so that three of your favorite friends can rock it out on screen with you. Personally, I sometimes get a little crazy while rocking it out and I step on the cable so this might be in my future.
More EA Shenanigans
April 8th, 2008By: Bumblb19
EA is up to their normal ways again with screwing gamers out of money. This time it just happens to be European gamers who are getting the sandpaper bath towel. Ea is charging the equivalent of US$348 to buy the Rock Band bundle. There isn’t even a “bundle” but rather a package that comes with the instruments and then you have to buy the game separately. I think this is crazy because it is double what the US gamers had to pay. Would you buy Rock Band for $348? I wouldn’t. Sorry Europe. The story came from Eurogamer.net
Achievement Junkies
April 6th, 2008By: Bumblb19
*****UPDATE*****
This no longer works since they patched the game. Sorry.
This video for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is for all the achievement junkies out there and for people like me under normal circumstances would never level up due to not playing multiplayer a lot. This video is done by the folks over at Next Gen Walkthroughs. This site is where I get a lot of my game help whenever I get stuck on games. They do walkthroughs for games like COD4, Gears of War, Halo 3, and a lot of other games. They take video footage of the best paths that they have found to get through games on the hardest difficulty. Veteran for COD4, Insane for Gears and Legendary for H3. In any case, this is a video showing how to get easy experience points so you can level up in no time on R6V2. There might be better ways to get to Elite in multiplayer but this is a pretty good way to unlock all of the A.C.E.S. classes which in turn unlocks the “Weapon Collector” achievement. Something the video doesnt mention, is that if you wait until they get on the turret before you shoot them, then you get points toward the “Assault” category. If you walk up close to them and shoot them with the shotgun or the Desert Eagle, you get points towards the “CQB” category. Enjoy.
Myst for the DS
April 6th, 2008By: Bumblb19

For those of you out there who are Myst fans and also own a DS, this might be the game for you. The original Myst was one of the best selling adventure games on the PC. It may not be the most exciting game on the market, but for Myst fans it will be the game they love as it remains mostly unchanged from the original. One exception, however, is a new age called “The Rime Age.”
The Game We Shall Not Mention

For those of you that play the game that shall not be mentioned, here is a link to a good sized article from Bungie about the upcoming maps.
Strange PSP Commercial
April 5th, 2008By: Bumblb19
If anyone in our listener base happens to live in Europe, can you please explain to me if this makes any sense to you? It is one of Sony’s most recent PSP ads and it is more than a little strange. I guess its just par for the course for PSP ads in Europe though. Maybe its just something that people in Europe find funny but I find it odd.
