Free Watchmen Tickets from Best Buy

March 5th, 2009
By: Chuckdogg80

Anyone who knows me really well knows that I am a sucker for a good deal. I found an interesting one at Best Buy’s website today that I thought was worthy of being shared, given all of the hype about the new Watchmen movie that comes out tomorrow. If you purchase any of the Xbox 360 items on THIS page, you will also receive 2 free tickets to see Watchmen. None of the prices are outstanding, but when you factor in what it costs to go to a movie, it’s a nice deal. So if you need some Space Bucks to buy the new Burnout Paradise toy car pack, get some free movie tickets while you’re at it. Enjoy!

RAF (Britain’s Royal Air Force) has gone into a cost savings mode. Bad news for pilots, good news for gamers. They are cutting back on hiring real pilots to fly their drones and are hiring ‘young video game players’. So put down the Xbox controller and pick up the Reaper Controller. Game on!

Resident Evil Bash (Stroudburg PA Best Buy Only)

By: Full Tilt 101

On March 13th, the Stroudburg, PA Best Buy will be making a haunted house. Originally they had planned to have a few workers dress up as zombies. This transformed slowly. They added some mad scientists who were ‘working’ on the zombie virus. Then the idea of the haunted house came to them. Then they went to the local recruiting station to ask for some fatigues. The recruiting station one-upped them and offered soldiers complete with M-16′s firing blanks.

Sounds like it’s turning into quite a party. I work 15 minutes from there so I’m thinking about stopping by. The only downside is that I hated the demo and didn’t want to buy the game…

What’s Killing the Game Industry?

What’s killing the game industry? According to this Slate Article it’s not the economy.
The basic jist is that it isn’t the fault of the recession, Slate is blaming the high production values that go into games.

I think the fix might lie in downloadable content. Keep adding value to existing games and we’ll keep buying them. GTA : The Lost and Damned had the highest opening day download on Live. Lots of people are keeping Burn Out : Paradise because of the great downloadable content.
